Histamine Intolerance (HI) is more common than you may think. I can’t tell you how often I speak with patients and discover that the source of many of their health challenges turns out to be histamine intolerance. After lab testing rules out autoimmunity, and other larger issues, I often find that the mysterious source of my patient’s neuropathy, headaches, sinus issues, and more, all boils down to this sometimes difficult to detect issue.
The foods you eat may be aggravating your symptoms. If you find that certain foods seem to be triggering headaches, dizziness, flushing in the face, neuropathy, sinus issues and more, than histamine intolerance may be the culprit. Foods and beverages such as red wine, avocados, green and black tea, most citrus, and meats that are not very fresh such as aged steaks, hamburger that was ground several days ago, or fish that isn’t freshly caught can all be either high in histamine itself, or histamine liberating, i.e. they free histamine from other proteins. They may also block the activity of DAO, the enzyme which is responsible for breaking down histamine in the gut.
Histazyme works like a charm. If you’ve been told that you have an intolerance to dietary histamine, or have discovered that fact out for yourself, following a low histamine diet can assist you in managing uncomfortable symptoms. However, it is sometimes not possible to eat low histamine, especially when dining out at a restaurant, at a friends house, or when travelling or on vacation. Taking histazyme up to 15 minutes before a meal can help break down ingested dietary histamine, thereby eliminating the histamine buildup and immune response and uncomfortable symptoms associated with it.
Histazyme is a great choice for those who:
Suggested Use: Take one to two capsules no more than 15 minutes before the consumption of histamine-rich foods. Consult your physician before use.
Contents: 60 Capsules
Warning: Consult your healthcare practitioner before use, especially if you are pregnant or nursing. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid if allergic to pork or any other ingredient. This product contains corn. Histazyme is NOT EFFECTIVE for symptoms of immune-related food allergies, such as peanuts, shellfish, etc., or for gluten intolerance due to sensitivity or celiac disease. Keep out of reach of children. Store away from heat and moisture.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: Wheat, gluten, yeast, soy, dairy products, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, ingredients derived from genetically modified organisms (GMOs), artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, or artificial preservatives.
Will Histazyme help break down histamine in my bloodstream and nervous system?
The enzyme in Histazyme, diamine oxidase (DAO), does not absorb intestinally and therefore does not work systemically. I formulated Histazyme to break down food-derived histamine only. This means that you can take it before meals to help break down histamine in the gut, but it will not exert it’s histamine digesting effects systemically or throughout the body.
Can Histazyme help with IgE or IgG immune response related to food allergies the way an antihistamine can?
I want to be perfectly clear about this topic as I do not wish anyone to believe that Histazyme is an “antihistamine” which is a class of drugs regulated by the FDA. The enzyme in Histazyme, DAO, is not absorbed and does not have systemic activity. Because of this, Histazyme does not manage or address antibody-related or IgE-related food allergies. Histazyme is NOT EFFECTIVE for symptoms of immune-related food allergies, such as peanuts, shellfish, etc., or for gluten intolerance due to sensitivity or celiac disease.
Where does the DAO enzyme in Histazyme come from?
The DAO enzyme in my Histazyme formula is sourced from Europe and is a porcine glandular extract. This means that if you are in any way allergic to pork, or avoid pork for spiritual or other reasons, you will want to avoid Histazyme as well. Please be aware that Histazyme also contains a corn derivative.

You’ll know exactly what you’re getting because all products are 3rd party tested and verified. You may be surprised to know that the supplement industry is not regulated by the FDA and it’s up to the manufacturer to ensure they’re delivering high-quality products that contain what they say they do.
All of the supplements I carry in my store carry the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) seal, meaning they have been 3rd party tested for for purity, quality, potency, and composition, so you can rest assured that you’re getting the key nutrients you’re paying for and that your body needs.
High-potency, pharmaceutical grade supplements to maximize value and impact.
Because I am a licensed physician, the supplements I carry are pharmaceutical grade, meaning they are higher quality and typically higher dosages than you can find in a health food store or online retailer.
This is vital because cost per unit is a key metric to look at when choosing supplements. If you look at a supplement such as my 100 Billion probiotic, you will find that you may need to take nearly an entire bottle of other probiotics to achieve the same potency.
My supplements contain no gluten, dairy, soy, GMOs, preservatives, dyes, or toxic ingredients. You’re not eating these inflammatory foods or toxins so why would you want them in your supplements?! I source all of the ingredients in my supplements from pure, clean sources.
There are a few incredibly rare exceptions where products contain trace amounts of dairy or egg because of the way they need to be formulated, however they are clearly marked on the product page and are in such low quantities that even my very sensitive patients typically have not had a reaction.
The highest quality ingredients in the form that is best absorbed and utilized by your body. The form and formulation of the vitamins and nutrients in your supplements make a difference! I have specifically sourced and formulated the ingredients in my products to be in their most bioavailable forms for maximum effectiveness.
Every product in my store has been personally vetted by me. Not only have I researched and tested every product I carry, I have also worked with thousands of patients to determine which formulations that produce the very best results.
